UG Second Semester
The UG (undergraduate) students of all the department need to study ONE AECC (Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course) and ONE GE (Generic Elective) course in their first semester in addition to TWO CORE courses.
AECC (Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course): 4 credits
For the students of natural and mathematical sciences, MIL (Modern Indian Language)/ English Communication is the compulsory AECC in the UG second semester. The students of natural and mathematical sciences are requested to choose ANY ONE of the following courses offered by various departments in Even semester 2022-2023 session:

For the students of social sciences and humanities, Environmental Science is the compulsory AECC in the UG second semester.

GE (Generic Elective): 6 credits
‘Elective’ means a course which is chosen by a student. ‘Generic Elective’ is a course to be chosen by a student from a discipline/subject OTHER THAN his/her major department, with an intention to seek exposure beyond his/her major discipline/ subject.
The list of GE (Generic Elective) courses offered by various departments for Even Semester 2022-2023 session is given below. The UG SECOND SEMESTER students are requested to choose ANY ONE of these courses.

UG Fourth Semester
The UG (undergraduate) students need to study THREE CORE courses, ONE SEC (Skill Enhancement Course) and ONE GE (Generic Elective) in their FOURTH semester.
GE (Generic Elective): 6 credits
‘Elective’ means a course which is chosen by a student. ‘Generic Elective’ is a course to be chosen by a student from a discipline/subject OTHER THAN his/her major department, with an intention to seek exposure beyond his/her major discipline/ subject.

* Pre-requisite/Seat Limit:
(I) Only those who have successfully completed STAT02GE2 in semester 2 can opt for the STAT04GE4 course.
(II) Maximum 50 number of students can choose ENGL02GE2 and ENGL04GE4 as their GE course.
(III) Maximum 60 number of students can choose BENG02GE2 and BENG04GE4 as their GE course.
(IV) Maximum 80 number of students can choose BIOS02GE2 and BIOS04GE4 as their GE course.
(V) Maximum 60 number of students can choose PHYS02GE2 and PHYS04GE4 as their GE course.
SEC (Skill Enhancement Course): 4 credits
Skill Enhancement Courses are value-based and/or skill-based and are aimed at providing hands-on-training, competencies, skills, etc. offered by the main discipline/subject of study. This subject is beyond the purview of Post Publication Review.
At the beginning of each semester, they need to choose and register for SEC course in a particular time window provided by the university. The students must stick to the registration schedule published on the university website. No request for registration can be entertained after the stipulated dates.

Timeline for EVEN Semester, 2022-2023 Session:
The GE/AECC registration will commence from 11.00 am of Monday, 30th January 2023 and will continue till Friday, 3rd February 2023. The students shall register latest by 5.00 pm of 3rd February 2023. The GE/AECC classes will commence from Tuesday, 31st January 2023 onwards. The students can change their GE/AECC choice from 11.00 am of Tuesday, 7th February 2023 to 5.00 pm of Monday, 13th February 2023.
All the students shall download their GE/AECC registration card from Tuesday, 14th February to Friday, 17th February and submit a soft/ hard copy to the departmental coordinator by Friday, 17th February 2023.
The students must stick to the registration and change schedule. No request for registration/ change can be entertained after the stipulated dates.
